I ran Bailiwick Accounting Services for a number of years before transitioning out of that side of the business. I now work alongside Steve and Andrea, fully focused on financial planning.
We often hear from clients that working with us changed the course of their retirement. Their lifestyle is far better than they expected. And they're not worrying about every dollar they spend or losing sleep over news headline about markets.
Most people just want to know they're going to be okay. That they can live comfortably, do some travel, enjoy their hobbies, look after their health, and not run out of money. Beyond the number crunching and problem solving, it's the peace of mind and confidence our clients get that I find quietly satisfying
Outside of work, I'm an avid surf foiler. Learning a new sport from scratch has been a fantastic experience, and one of the biggest rewards is the access it opens up to so many uncrowded waves that would otherwise be out of reach. I also love taking the family on holidays, making the most of every opportunity to explore new places together.
I'm a long-suffering Australian rugby union fan, so I'm very familiar with staying optimistic through rebuilding phases.

Martin Daly - the original skipper of the Indies Trader, who explored and discovered many of Indonesia’s now-famous surf breaks during the 70’s and early 80’s. Beyond the adventure itself, he’s reputed to be an exceptional raconteur so I’m sure he would have some amazing stories to tell.

The Practicing Mind by Thomas M. Sterner. It’s a simple but powerful book about focusing on the process rather than obsessing over outcomes. I think that mindset applies to almost everything - work, learning new skills and especially long-term financial decisions.

Hakuba in Japan. There are incredible mountains right on your doorstep for snowboarding, and I’ve always loved the Japanese people - their culture, respectfulness and attention to detail. A year there would be the perfect mix of adventure, simplicity and immersing myself in a very different way of life.
